35mm Negative and Slide Scanning
(Price is per image). Please be aware that we do not develop films - we can only scan developed negatives, slides or prints.
The 35mm film was by far the most popular and best format prior to digitisation; in fact, some photographers still use it today. With a diverse range of film speeds, one was/is able to capture the ideal shot - especially when using a high end camera.
Because of the generous surface area on the negative (or slide), we are able to scan at a mere 1,200 dpi to create a decent sized image. Our 2,400 dpi scan produces a bigger picture which would be ideal if you intend to place a print of it within a larger (A4 or above) picture frame; our 4,800 dpi scan is much, much larger. To get a better idea of potential "actual" sizes, download the files from here, open them within your favourite photo program and zoom to actual size. In the alternative, double click the file within the cloud, to view it, and use the zoom tool at the foot of the image until the '+' plus sign greys out. Scrolling your mouse wheel will also zoom in and out. If the entire image does not fit within your screen then, by holding down your left mouse button, pan around the picture to view the level of detail.
As with all of our colour scans, we employ automatic - light - dust and scratch removal together with grain reduction (where appropriate) and image sharpening.
All scanned images are uploaded to a cloud area dedicated to you, and, remain there for at least 6 months; this should provide you with ample opportunity to download and/or share them with loved ones - anywhere in the world, with internet access.
When sending your negatives/slides to us, and wherever possible, please ensure that they remain within their original sleeves or wallets. Then, either use a "please do not bend" envelope or sandwich them between two pieces of strong cardboard (without sticking them). In all instances, please ensure your order details are enclosed with your negatives or slides and that you send them to us via signed for delivery. It is important not to touch the image surface with bare fingers when handling it.
Once your images are scanned, we will send you a unique link so that you can access, view and/or download them. You will also be at liberty to send the same link to whomever you choose so they can view/download them too.
Our price is per image. All of our sales and services are subject to our terms and conditions which can be viewed here.
